Despite the fact that none of you would consider this a failure, I’m quite annoyed I didn’t get around to posting my update last week when it was “due.” But alas, I’ll carry on.
It’s been a wild few weeks with Thanksgiving and all surrounding events – tree gathering party, hooking up with our amazing old school “Stamford crew,” having another elephant (surprisingly!!!) join my tribe, and prepping for my four week break from active treatment.
As of Wednesday, the dog days are over – getting zapped is all done! It was an incredibly emotional day – beyond excited; incredibly sad to say goodbye to my scan people because they were my new homies and I genuinely enjoyed my time with them; anxious about entering a new time period with zero active actions against this bitch in my brain; completely overwhelmed with the idea of focusing on December which includes: the Polar Express! Leila’s JUMPZ party! Leila’s actual birthday! Wrapping presents plus other Christmas activities during this time that feel like too much to list. Oh, and then there’s Christmas itself.
Anyhow, given my large increase in free time for the next few weeks (no more zen-filled drives to zaps, and an incredibly thoughtful leave through my amazing firm – I know you all think I’m nuts but the FOMO is for real!!!), I’m forcing myself to stay positive and get through December in good spirits. Somehow I’m still standing in better shape than so many others in the same sneakers (get it? I’ve become a bit of a sneaker fanatic…)
It’s been a lot. It will continue to be a lot. And you’re all amazing humans for the support, thoughtfulness and positive vibes you’ve been sending our way. Ry, Leila, Scarlett, Zeke and I are forever grateful.
Okey doke, it’s closing time on this update since there’s (thankfully??) not more to share. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and peace out 2023 – let’s get some better universal energy in 2024!!!! Love love love, Danielle & Fam
PS – if you picked up on this pre this PS, please tell me because I will crack up. If you didn’t, this write up included a bit of a word search for the three songs I chose to have my MSK radiation crew play in my last session. Ready, set, go!
