In an effort to pay it forward, I have a couple charitable organizations that I thought I’d share for those of you looking to funnel some love into an incredible place.
Empire State Ride (500 miles!!!!)
My brother-in-law, Trevor Doherty, is a PA at NewYork-Presbyterian. Given his career, he’s always been incredibly focused on the medical field and what he can do to help folks dealing with unwanted shit. His rockstar status started with the Covid-19 pandemic, and has continued as he provides support at NYP, and to me as “Dr. Trev.” He has been one of the biggest the biggest sanity-assisting, question-answering, medical-info-translating rock in my adventures. Below is the link to his LITERALLY 500 MILE bike ride page – take a peek and contribute if you’re feeling up for it! (PS, I personally think he’s nuts…but you do you Trevvy!)
The SCOTTY Fund
The Scotty Fund is a local organization that supports families with children who are critically ill. They’ve been in operation for almost 30 years, and have helped countless families get through their situation by reducing some financial stress.
The National Brain Tumor Society
This one seems fairly obvious by name so I won’t go into too much detail. I’ll be treating myself to a quick trip to the Jersey Shore for a fundraising walk in May of 2024. I encourage anyone who wants to join to sign up!
Bonus!
Take your shirt off…
You can skip spinning it like a helicopter BUT if being shirtless, you should consider splurging on a new Tee! The purchase of these shirts contribute to the charities above, and are just fun because my sisters killed the designs.
